Why these exist

Reward stickers are everywhere — on charts, in classrooms, at the dentist. But a child with an afro, with cornrows, with beads at the ends, almost never sees themselves on one. So I drew them: sheets that mark sitting still through a whole braid, surviving wash day, walking out of the barbershop with a fresh cut.

Then the same gap turned up everywhere else. A child who wants to write a story has the ideas long before they have the words, and a reader who loves a book wants to climb inside it. So the story book sheets hand them the characters, the places, the animals and the small everyday things to peel out and build a story with — no spelling required. Imagination becomes something you can hold and press onto a page.

The journal sheets are for the writing that comes after that: the notebooks, planners and scrapbooks where real life gets recorded. Milestones and motherhood, numbers and years, the kitchen, the village, the planets, the day something mattered. Sixty sheets, so the page can look like the life.

That is why there are four collections rather than one. Whether someone is being rewarded, being read to, or filling a page of their own, the sticker should look like them and like the story they are telling.
